Ambassador (Engr.) Omar Suleiman, (Dokaji Adamawa) Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the Democratic Republic of Congo was born in February 1961 in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

He attended Hong Primary School and proceeded to Government Secondary School Hong between 1973-and 1978 where he obtained his WAEC Certificate. He also attended Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria between 1978 — and 1983 where he obtained his BSc. Hons Building and M. Eng. in Material and Construction Engineering at the University of Nigeria Nsukka. He attended several professional courses in the United Kingdom, Nigeria, and other countries. He worked with Nigeria Port Authority where he rose to the rank of Managing Director.

He is married to a wife and children.
